Using Your Chair
Take time to get to know your wheelchair. Exercise particular caution during your first few uses.
Your chair has been custom-made for you, taking into account factors such as your stature, weight, mobility
and particular needs. It is not recommended that your chair be used by anyone other than the intended user.
The recommended maximum weight of the user of your chair is 100kg.
Your chair should only be used to transport one person at any one time. Any use exceeding this limit violates
safety regulations and will void the warranty.

CAUTION : limited stability wheelchair – tips on slopes of less than 10 degrees .
Your chair is for your everyday transportation on even surfaces.
Your chair should not be used in extreme conditions such as environments that are very wet, very hot or
very cold. It should be kept away from open flames and salt water. If exposed to these types of conditions,
components including but not limited to bearings, axles and tyres may be damaged, and need to be repaired
or replaced.

Your wheelchair is unique. It has been custom-made to suit your needs and requirements. All chairs come with depth adjustable and removable back upholstery and quick release rear wheels unless otherwise specified.
Not all wheelchairs have all of the features listed on the facing page, however, as they vary according to the model and your requirements. For further details about accessories that your chair can accommodate, please contact your local dealer.
* All parts listed on the facing page, excluding those marked with an asterisk (*) may be removed and returned to your manufacturer or dealer for repair if required.
Some parts of your chair will wear with time. As part of your regular servicing, check that,
- your rear tyres still have tread (part 7)
- your tyre tubes retain the pressure specified by the manufacturer and the kpa / psi on the tyre wall (part 7)
- all of your bearings move freely (parts 5, 10)
- your brake pads are not worn (part 8)
- your front casters are not worn (part 9)
If any of these parts require replacement, or you are unsure, contact the manufacturer or your nearest dealer.
It is recommended that these parts are replaced by a professional service technician.
Safety Tips
If your chair has pneumatic tyres, do not inflate them beyond the maximum recommended kpa rate found on
the tyre wall. For tyres marked with psi rate only – the conversion is 1 psi = 6.8947kpa .
If your chair has an under-seat carry net, do not overfill it with bulky or heavy items. It is intended for small,
lightweight items only. The weight of items stowed in your carry net should not exceed 2.5kg.
Any alterations or modifications to your chair that have not been carried out by a professional may increase
the risk of accidents and void your warranty.
Do not install a power drive on your Mogo Wheelchair. It is not designed to withstand these types of forces
and stresses. Doing so will void the warranty.
Do not continue to use your chair if the frame has suffered serious damage such as a fracture or a crack
in a weld. Return your chair to the manufacturer or your nearest dealer for repair, or frame replacement.
Do not continue to use your chair if any accessories such as but not limited to brakes or anti-tip bars are not
in full working order. Contact the manufacturer or your nearest dealer to have these parts serviced,
repaired or replaced.
Possible Problems and Solutions
Wheelchair pulls to one side
Tyre pressure may be uneven. Check that both tyres are at optimum pressure as stated on tyre wall.
One or more wheels may not be turning properly.
Check that axles turn freely and lubricate as appropriate. Check that both front wheels sit evenly on a level surface.
Front caster wheels wobble
Front casters may not be bolted securely. Tighten caster shaft (horizontal) if necessary. Alternatively, pivot stem bolts (vertical) may be loose. Tighten if necessary.
Front caster wheels are stiff
Front casters may be secured too tightly. Loosen caster shaft until the wheels turn freely. Alternatively, caster bearings may be caked with debris or damaged. Clean bearing or replace if necessary.
Note:
For any repairs and servicing of your chair, please contact Mogo Wheelchairs, or your nearest dealer, as no service manual is provided with your chair.
Handling
Backrest and Side Guards
For chairs with a foldable backrest, to fold it down, first lift out the side guards. Pull on the string at the back of the chair, which will unlock the backrest. Push down until the backrest is parallel with the seat.
To unfold, lift back until the backrest locks into position. Replace the side guards before resuming use.
Rear Wheels
The rear wheels of your chair are equipped with quick-release axles. To remove a wheel, press and hold the quick release button on the axle and slide the axle out.
To replace the wheel, press and hold the button and slide the axle in. When the wheel is pushed in, release the button, where it will pop back out to its original position when locked in. Do not use the chair unless you are sure both quick release axles are locked.
Brakes
If your chair is fitted with solid tyres and brakes, be aware that as the tyre wears down, the brakes will need to be adjusted accordingly. If you are not confident adjusting the brake lever along the rail it is clamped to, contact the manufacturer or your nearest dealer for servicing.
Upholstery
The upholstery for the chair’s backrest is held in place with a series of Velcro style tabs. These can be easily removed and replaced for cleaning and adjusting. The tabs can also be used to adjust the backrest so it is set at the desired depth and position.
Maintenance
Regular Maintenance is the key!
General maintenance should be undertaken monthly and no less than four times each year. Most tasks that require tools can be performed using a Phillips screwdriver, a 4mm or 5mm Allen key, and an 8mm or 10mm spanner.
Regularly check that both tyres are at optimum kpa pressure as stated on tyre wall. Check all tyres for wear and damage. If a puncture is detected, be sure to check the tyre for the puncture source and remove it if possible before repairing/replacing the tube.
Clean your quick release rear wheels regularly. If you use your chair near salt water, it is extremely important
to remove regularly to prevent the rear wheels seizing within the axle housing.
Regularly tension all nuts, bolts and spokes. Be careful no to over-tighten.
If your chair is equipped with brakes, check them regularly. Where required, clean and tension them.
Check and clean front wheels of all debris to maintain optimum performance. Build up of dirt, fluff and hair
around the axles and bearings will affect the performance and lifespan of these parts.
Your chair does not come standard with maintenance tools. For further general maintenance assistance
or information, contact you local dealer or manufacturer.
Clean the upholstery as required. To clean, remove the backrest and hand wash in warm, soapy water.
WARNING : Do not machine wash or dry at any time. This will void all warranty. Remember when in doubt always call your nearest dealer
